Criteria for an Affiliate (Article 12A)
Affiliates shall comprise those persons who at the date of adoption of these Articles are on the Register as Affiliates of the Institute; and every person thereafter elected as such.
Every candidate for election as an Affiliate shall be not less than 21 years of age, shall be admitted to practise law or on a Register of Patent Agents or Patent Attorneys or Trade Mark Agents or Trade Mark Attorneys in any relevant jurisdiction (as determined by the Council), who has been practising in Hong Kong for two or more years and who shall prove to the satisfaction of the Council that a part of that practice in Hong Kong has been in trade mark or other intellectual property law, namely patents, copyright or designs.
